Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veterans Day to all my fellow vets. We remember that "All gave some, some gave all."

FC3 John McDermott
US Navy 1985-1991
USS Yorktown CG-48

I shot these.

That's it for me. Remember, shoot safe, shoot straight!

Edited to add a link to a video of a Soviet ship ramming us in the Black Sea.

  2. Yep, 5 inchers. With my first captain, we shot everyday except Sunday. Five or ten rounds of 5inch, at least a hundred round burst of 20mm from the CIWS, and at least 100 rounds of .50 cal. He actually had an M-14 mounted in the bridge so he could shoot whenever he wanted. Shot so much ammo on our first cruise, that he started asking for un-expended ammo from other ships and got it for us to shoot more.

  3. Tico's are great boats. Too bad she's tied up at the Philly base awaiting her fate. I think she was de-commissioned with only about 20 years of use out of her.
